“DR. AL KOWARI SAID IN HIS SPEECH THAT “THE TURKEY QATAR CULTURE YEAR 2015 WAS THE MOST SUCCESSFUL CULTURE YEAR

H.E. Dr. Hamad bin Abdul Aziz Al Kowari, Minister of Culture, Heritage and Arts, opened on Wednesday 27 October 2015 the Turkish Festival and Bazar, as one of the event of Turkey – Qatar culture year 2015, under the Patronage of H.H. Sheikha Al Mayasa bint Hamad Al Thani, President of Qatar Museum Authorities, at the MIA Park.

The Festival that will last 4 days aims to build a legacy of relations between peoples through the cultural exchange, as a part of the Qatari view for a National Qatar 2030, and it will include Vocal Classical and Traditional Turkish Folk Music and dance, a show for the Mehteran Ottoman Military Band, in additional to photograph expo and Turkish café, also a screening of open area cinema organized by Qatar Film Institute. The Festival will include as well workshops and puppet show for kids, Handicraft Demonstration, food and beverages from Turkish restaurants.

Dr. Al Kowari said in his speech that “the Turkey Qatar culture year 2015 was the most successful culture year, and this success is due to a great political leadership in both countries, knowing that the preparation started little late but there was a real will to have serious and successful program for the cultural year” also he mentioned that the festival is an opportunity to have a close view on the Turkish culture and the common point with the Arab culture, and he is very satisfied with the success of this event.

Mrs. Safia Al Hajri, director of strategic cultural relations, is pleased of the starting of the festival and she said “with the near ending of the Turkey – Qatar Culture year 2015, we are sure of the success of this event in showing for the Qatari citizens the real Turkish culture and to let them discover the Turkish art and to enjoy the Festival and the Bazar, and our goal is to mix the two cultures between the people and we are proud to see the satisfaction smile on many faces.”

Mr. Sevec Guvenc, GM of W Hotel said “W Hotel is proud to participate in this festival to show the Turkish culture and history and the hotel is committed to do all the necessary effort to reach a successful view of National Qatar 2030.”

The Festival will also give the opportunity to listen to street Turkish music with the best Turkish performers and to taste the Traditional Turkish Food with the collaboration of many restaurants from International Hotels.

The Expo “New Angles and New Perspectives” will show a unique view on Qatari photographer’s artworks and photos took during their visit to Turkey as part of the cultural exchange between the two countries, and the bazar will allow people to buy many Turkish items and handcrafts and mosaic art.

Turkey – Qatar culture year 2015, included many expos in both countries to allow citizens to discover and to exchange the culture of the other part.”
