Turkey and Qatar are two brotherly countries enjoying excellent relationships in every field. This relationship has a history of almost 500 years. Having such a distinguished background and based on our cultural affinities, cooperation between Turkey and Qatar is developing into a bright future of cooperation.

Our countries have proved capable of standing together in the face of events unfolding in our shared region. Our joint efforts aim to transform this volatile region into a basin of peace and stability. The expanding cooperation between Turkey and Qatar, as two crucial players of the region, has an ever growing importance.

Economic relations are of greater significance given the notable growth and dynamism demonstrated by the two countries. In particular, I am proud to see Turkish construction companies going from strength to strength in Qatar. Empowering the current status of relations between the economic and capital circles of our countries will remain at the focus of Turkish-Qatari bilateral relations.

It is for sure that the expanding political and economic relations aforementioned will further consolidate ties at grassroots level. Turkish community in Qatar is already contributing to Qatar’s society and economy in the role of business holders, professionals and academicians. Greater number of Qataris visits Turkey each year, an indicator of flourishing human to human contacts. It will therefore remain high on my priorities to ensure that this relationship between our peoples continues on its upward course.

At a time our relations are gaining such momentum, it is my grand privilege to serve as the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Doha. On behalf of the Embassy and myself, I extend my best wishes to our Qatari brothers and sisters as well as Turkish community in Qatar.
